Wedding Planning Services & Information














Church Hire: The Church is available for hire for one and a half hours. Example: if you are getting married at 3 pm, you will have access to the church from 2.30 pm until 4pm. The next wedding would be at 4.30 pm, having access to the church at 4pm.

Minister / Celebrant: Arrangements can be made to have a priest or civil marriage celebrant perform the ceremony. Australian law requires that all marriage papers are lodged no less than 31 days prior to the wedding day. You will need the following - 1. Notice of intended Marriage Form - this will be forwarded to you once we have booked a Celebrant/Minister for you. 2. Original birth certificates 3. If divorced, notice of dissolution of that marriage is required.

Photography and Videography: Photography is a critical part of your day. Your wedding lasts one day, however your photos and video are there for generations to come. Please see our range of packages detailed in the following pages.

Tropical Flowers: Two stunning arrangements of fresh fronds and tropical flowers in large urns either side of the altar (not on the altar). Flowers may include helaconia’s, lobster claws, gingers, sexy pinks etc. This striking arrangement can be all the decoration the church needs.

Pew Bows: Cream or white satin ribbon bows are available - these will be set up for you. There are a total of 18 pews.

Music: The wedding packages include the CD sound system - please bring your CD and a list of music you would like played for walking down the aisle (1st track), signing (2 tracks), leaving the church (4th track) and the wedding coordinator will play them for you. Other options include a string quartet, soloist, bagpipes etc… and DJ and live music for your reception.

Bridal Flowers: We have a flower order form and photos that we can send you, to help you choose the flowers you would like.

Hairdresser & Makeup: Pamper yourself on your wedding day and have your hair, makeup and nails done in the privacy of your hotel room. A team of makeup artists and hairstylists can meet the needs of bridal parties, no matter how large. Trial hair and makeup appointments can also be conducted in your hotel room, before your wedding day. Contact us for all bookings.

Wedding Transport: Standard and stretch limousines, a Rolls Royce,  Daimler, vintage cars & a horse drawn carriage are also available.

Confetti: NO paper confetti or rice permitted. Please use fresh/dried flower petals. We can arrange for fresh rose petals to be used for a flower shower outside St Mary’s.

Post Ceremony Celebration: Treat your guests to a champagne/beer celebration on the lawn in front of St Mary's overlooking the Coral sea, while you are having your photos taken. Port Douglas Weddings holds the liquor licence to serve alcohol at St Mary's. We can also offer you a selection of canapés!

Wedding Cakes: We can put you in touch with our cake artist who can give you a personalised quote for your wedding cake.

Accommodation: Look at the accommodation page on our website, which will offer you a range of accommodation options that offer you a discount rate when you book through Port Douglas Weddings.

Receptions: Whether it’s at one of Port Douglas’ leading restaurants, in a tropical park or under the stars on a private property, we will be able to assist you. We have a relationship with the region’s leading caterers and event management organisations that will take care of all your reception needs.

Private Charter: Let us know what you have in mind, and we can make suggestions accordingly from a range of different sized boats.

Rehearsals: Rehearsals at St. Mary’s Church must be booked in advance, and are an additional cost.

Consultancy: This is built into our packages, however, there is a charge of $75 for time spent on consultancy, communication, advice and bookings for any tailor-made packages. –
